At Scandic, all children are welcome
We like children, it's as simple as that. Perhaps because children are often our most demanding guests, so we get to show just what we can do. Children always say what they think, and they think a lot, all the time. We want anyone travelling with children to feel safe in the knowledge that everyone in the family will enjoy staying with us.
Our most childish attractions
- Children up to the age of 13 stay free of charge* when sharing with an adult.
- Naturally, children also receive breakfast at no extra cost.
- Almost every hotel has a playroom.
- Kids' menu with good food to fill up hungry children.
- We have practical things like changing tables and microwaves.
- The possibility of a separate room for teenagers.
- Sigge – our mascot, who the youngest children will encounter in various guises at the hotel.
- Every child receives a present at check-in.
We accommodate the whole family
Children up to the age of 13 may stay in an adult's room at no extra charge*. In the morning, you enjoy breakfast together without paying anything extra. All our hotels are different, so the hotel rooms vary. Some hotels have family and multi-bedded rooms, while others offer spare beds on request. Our aim is for every member of the family to have their own bed to sleep in. If you’re travelling with a baby you can borrow a cot. Always let us know what your family needs when you book.
*Does not apply at Scandic Luosto in Finland.
Separate room for teenagers
When children become young adults, it can feel like they have grown out of the spare bed. So we think it's a good idea to offer them their own room at a special young person's rate. A separate room for teenagers can only be booked if they are accompanied by adults who are also staying at the hotel. Call the hotel directly to find out what they can offer.
Playroom for the little ones
Children sometimes miss their toys. Even if they have their teddy bear and favourite book with them, new stuff is always fun. Almost every Scandic has a playroom, offering everything from jigsaws and games to videos and toys. The playroom is right next to the restaurant or a seating area. Perhaps an opportunity for you to take it easy while the kids rush around.
Good food on the kids' menu
All our restaurants have a kids' menu of dishes that usually tempt most children. The food is simple and tasty, and is made from good ingredients. Many hotels serve food from a buffet, so the children can choose exactly what they want. We also give all our youngest guests ice cream after dinner, whether they've cleared their plates or not. If you have slightly older children, they can always choose a half-portion from the normal menu.
Small practicalities
Many Scandics have a changing table and microwave in the public areas. Sometimes there is a little step at the check-in desk, so that little people can reach.
Sigge is the children's friend at Scandic
Sigge is a hedgehog who isn't prickly. Instead, he does great things for the children staying with us. He sorts out pancakes for breakfast and makes sure that there are fun things in the playroom. Sometimes he even pops into the hotel to say hello.
Surprise for the kids
When children check in with us, they receive a little surprise present. It's our way of saying "Lovely to have you with us!"
